Gift: Oprah Winfrey gave away all 275 members of her audience a 2012 model new VW Beetle on today's edition of her 'Favourite Things' show today


It may be the last year of her talk show, but Oprah Winfrey is clearly determined to go out with a bang.

Today, in the second part of her annual Favourite Things episode, the talk show host gave away a brand new VW Beetle to every member of her 275 strong audience.

Keys were handed out to the screaming crowd, who will be the first group to get behind the wheel of the new updated model, hitting showrooms next autumn.

'Oh yeah, oh yeah, I gotcha, I gotcha,' she yelled to the stunned audience after a massive gift box was opened to reveal the car's silhouette.

Today's giveaway was the second part of Oprah's "Favourite Things" episode.

The first half, which aired next week, saw the talk show host give away thousands of dollars worth of prizes including a Sony television and Caribbean cruise

The 56-year-old talk show host also gave the audience an Apple iPad, which she proclaimed her 'No. 1 favourite thing ever.'

'I know it's wrong to be in love with a thing, and I don't normally recommend it,' she said, before declaring the gadget the 'best invention of the century so far.'
Oprah also gave the audience several items of clothing, including a cashmere sweater, Ugg boots covered in sequins and a patent-leather Coach bag that cost nearly $400.

'It's not really about all the gifts,' she said. 'Although the stuff is really fun, it really for me is about hope.

'It's about knowing that something really magical and joyful and wonderful can happen to you when you least expect it.'

Oprah has developed a bit of a reputation for generous giveaways of late.

Back in September, she lavished a trip to Australia on her audience members to mark the premiere of the 25th season of her show.

She announced that John Travolta would pilot all 300 of her audience to Sydney.

Oprah explained her decision to leave the show next year to concentrate on her new cable network OWN.

‘This show has been my life, and I love it enough to know when it’s time to say goodbye,’ she said.

Christina Aguilera and Jordan Bratman stunned fans when they announced their plan to divorce.

But now the 29-year-old singer has come forward to insist she is coping well with her marriage split.

In an interview with US chat show host Chelsea Handler, Christina, who is mother to two-year-old son Max, insisted she is looking towards a 'new chapter' in her life.

She said: 'I’m doing good - really, really good. Sometimes change is necessary. I’m entering a whole different chapter in my life now with the movie, and my son, and being a mother - the next evolution in my life.

'And it feels good - it feels really good.'

Christina also said she has been relying on old friendships to help her through the split, including with her former Mickey Mouse Club castmate Justin Timberlake.

In her Big Interview Special, Chelsea was also joined by Gwyneth Paltrow, who spoke about her new movie Country Song.

During the interview, the 38-year-old actress admitted she had no problems getting into the role of playing an addict because she is fond of a drink every now and then.

'But it wasn't a real conversation but we watched some films that do real sex... I don't know, it makes me feel weird.

'I spent weeks and weeks naked with Jake Gyllenhaal and they paid me!'

She's been famous since birth, so Paris Hilton should really have got the hang of dressing for photographers now.

But the 29-year-old socialite appeared to have forgotten all her fashion rules yesterday when she stepped out in Los Angeles wearing a pair of black leggings which turned sheer under the glare of hundreds of flashbulbs.

However, the hotel heiress seemed unaware of her fashion faux pas, and merrily loaded hundreds of shopping bags into her car following a shopping trip with mother Kathy and sister Nicky.

The trio, who were dressed for some serious shopping, donning matching shades, leggings and jackets for their day out, were also joined by family friend Brooke Mueller, the estranged wife of actor Charlie Sheen.

Instead, she is on probation for a year, must complete a substance abuse program, pay a $2,000 fine, and complete 200 hours of community service.

But now it seems the 17-year-old's dream could be over, after she found herself in the bottom two alongside Paije Richardson on Sunday night.

Cher was said to be 'devastated' after having to perform in the sing-off, and only narrowly escaped eviction from the programme when she was saved by Louis Walsh.

A source told the Daily Mirror: 'Cher was devastated to be in the sing-off. She knows no-one has ever won after being in the bottom two.

However, while former winner Alexandra Burke never appeared in the bottom two herself, she previously said she didn't believe in the 'bottom two jinx'.

'But I don’t think that is correct because JLS were in the bottom two and made it to the finals.'

Meanwhile, it has been claimed Cher is now desperate to topple pop rival, and X Factor favourite, Rebecca Ferguson after deciding she is her biggest competition.
A show insider said Cher is becoming frustrated by everyone saying how genuine Rebecca is.

A source told Heat magazine: 'People are loving Rebecca. They can see how nice and natural she is. Cher can't stand it.

'Last week, Cheryl told Cher that she need to make her peace with Rebecca. Cher admitted to Rebecca that she can be moody and it's just her personality.'

However, Rebecca is said to have found it difficult to put the argument behind her.
The source added: 'She accepted Cher's apology but she's not happy.

'Rebecca has admitted she still can't stand Cher and thinks she's a brat who behaves worse than her kids.'

And Rebecca is even said to have moved out of the girls' bedroom because she can't handle the tension with Cher.

'In the living room or the studio, Cher takes over,' the source said. 'She doesn't give other contestants any time to say anything or voice their opinions.

'Cher knows Rebecca isn't confrontational and will back off and walk away. Cher will focus on someone who threatens her and then try to suss out that person's weakness.

And the show's stylist Grace Woodward is the first to admit that Cher and her fellow contestant Katie Waissel have started to become envious of Rebecca's natural fashion sense.

The Trinadad-born 25-year-old, who released her debut album Pink Friday last week, also sported green dip-dyed hair.

The rapper tried out the new shade of her trademark hairstyle after sticking with hot pink in recent weeks.

Bobby Kim and Gummy, the two hottest artists for Korean soul music, have come together for a collaboration track, “Love Recipe,” which was released on November 23rd.

The two shared that they had often talked of wanting to work together, and were finally able to collaborate for this simple R&B song with a unique piano riff and groovy rhythm. Their powerful vocals also fit well with the song’s main lyric, which croons, “Love can sometimes be foolish and corny, but it’s important to be truthful when in love.”

YG Entertainment revealed, “Both of them always loved each others’ music and often talked about wanting to collaborate. An opportunity finally came up for them through ‘Love Recipe.’”

The music video for “Love Recipe” also showcases Gong Yoo and Im Su Jung’s latest movie, “Finding Kim Jong Wook.”

Bobby Kim, Gummy and Wheesung will also be opening a concert titled “The Vocalist” for December 30th and 31st. The concert last year managed to gather 30,000 music fans, and showed its potential as a brand.

Russell Brand must be getting a complex.

First his wife was publicly dumped by Elmo when the scene she filmed for Sesame Street was axed because her revealing clothing was deemed to risque for its young audience.

And now Katy Perry has found comfort in some new furry friends, cosying up to Simpsons characters Mr Burns and Moe.

It appears her racy personality and fashion sense is not a problem for the long-running show's producers.

The singer, dressed in one of her trademark latex dresses, clutches a gobsmacked Mr Burns to her chest in scenes from the upcoming episode, entitled The Fight Before Christmas.

But while she flirts with the millionaire owner of Springfield's Nuclear Power plant, it's actually downtrodden bartender Moe who really catches her eye.

In a clear dig at the children's series that axed her, the 25-year-old plays Elmo's girlfriend, who trades the red puppet for Moe, who, judging by these pictures, is clearly smitten with the star.

The Teenage Dream singer doesn't lend her voice to the cartoon, as the the long list of celebrity guests have in the past.

Instead, she filmed a live action segment for the episode, to be aired December 5, with puppets.

Producer Al Jean couldn't resist a tongue-in-cheek statement, declaring: 'In the wake of Elmo’s terrible betrayal, the Simpsons puppets wish to announce they stand felt-shoulder-to-shoulder with Katy Perry.'

The episode has been described as 'an edgy, dysfunctional Christmas with the Simpsons with some disturbing twists.'

Katy will lead Homer, Bart and the whole Simpsons clan in a rendition of 'the 39 Days of Christmas.'

The episode will also feature the voice of Martha Stewart, who appears in cartoon form.

'We are trying to go after those younger parents that may not have grown up on Sesame Street or seek it out We know how effective Sesame Street is.

'She (Katy Perry) is a wonderful musical talent and we had a great time.

'We would never produce anything that we felt was inappropriate and we were surprised at the amount of feedback and how fast it came in. There was a lot.
